About the Horologist (Watchmaker)

I am crazy about watches and watch bands. Essentially anything watch related. I service all my watches and make all the bands. Shoot me a message if there is something you need that you are having a hard time finding.

I have always enjoyed watches, especially mechanical watches. I find that mechanical watches have a simple, timeless elegance in a world that is ruled by digital electronics. My collection spans Timex to Omega. I repair and service all of my own watches and I thoroughly enjoy rescuing, repairing and reconditioning antique timepieces.
Unless noted, all watches sold on my shop are serviced!
Beware! Many vintage watches for sale online are not serviced.
Mechanical watches need to be cleaned and oiled for them to run reliably and I want my customers to receive their vintage watches in working and usable condition. The process I use to service a watch involves hours of labor.
- I fully disassemble the watch and movement into its individual components. Literally every screw and spring is removed.
- All components are inspected and repaired or replaced if needed.
- The parts are cleaned with an ultrasonic process with professional, waterless, watch cleaning solution.
- The parts are reassembled and all pivots oiled with swiss made Mobieus synthetic watch oils.
- The watch is regulated and adjusted using a computerized watch analyzer (timegrapher).
- I strive to keep vintage watches as original as possible, the case is cleaned and the crystal is polished or replaced.
- The strap is cleaned or replaced.
Since many of these watches are 50 to 75 years old, they will show signs of their previous lives. Scratches on the case and crystal are inevitable. The patina on the dial is permanent and merely shows the “character” of the watch. I do not hide anything, and I try to photograph every watch from every angle. Please carefully inspect the watch before purchasing it.
There’s
something
one should expect
Not only of a watch,
but also of oneself:
to never stand still.
